Wellness Warrior Outlook

It's been a minute since I opened up about my health journey, but I know how vital it is to share the struggles and successes of living with chronic illness. If there's one thing I've learned, it's that even if your illness can't be cured, it can be managed - and that's where the real power lies.

Back in 2015, I was hit with a laundry list of diagnoses - from gastroparesis to IBS-C, migraines, nervous system dysfunction, and mitochondrial issues. It felt like my body was staging a full-blown rebellion, and I was drowning in a sea of medications that offered little relief and endless side effects.

After hitting rock bottom, I decided to take a different path. I sought out a naturopathic and functional medicine doctor in 2016, and slowly but surely, my health started to turn a corner. We took a holistic approach, focusing on healing my body from the inside out, one step at a time.

In addition to addressing my physical ailments, I also turned to yoga and meditation to tame my stress, anxiety, and overactive nervous system. No, I don't believe these practices are a magical cure-all, but they have been crucial in helping me manage my symptoms and find moments of peace amidst the chaos.

Now, let's talk supplements. Disclaimer: This is not medical advice, and I wholeheartedly encourage you to consult with your healthcare providers before making any changes to your regimen. We're all unique beings, and what works for one may not work for another. But sharing our experiences and knowledge can spark valuable conversations and insights.
