Wellness in Balance
How do you always stay so positive?
The answer is I don't. And I try to share those moments with you...
Times of overwhelm and disappointment.
Times where I feel worthless and useless.
Times where I wish I wasn't sick, disabled.
The times I've cried for my old life while still climbing the rungs to my new life, to a new chapter.
Healing is hard.
And in those moments of vulnerability, you are admitting to the world, you are broken.
That shit is never easy.
There's like this embedded software in humans to fix or to throw out what is broken, ugly, flawed, or disabled.
So, when we call ourselves broken, we are admitting our imperfections and flaws.
How many people do you know that are super cool with just letting it all hang out there?
I envy those people.
They learned a long time ago that is within embracing the pain and brokenness that you allow yourself to FEEL everything life really has to offer you.
WHEN YOU CAN FEEL IT, YOU CAN HEAL IT.
In addition, they understand that true healing in body, mind and spirit comes from accepting all of you. Not just the parts everyone else likes.
To heal, to grow. To manage your stress, anxiety and even feelings of overwhelm, and depression...
YOU MUST BE ACCEPTING OF ALL THAT YOU ARE AND ALL YOU ARE NOT.
The wonderful parts, the not so good parts and the really awful parts.
It’s all part of what makes you, YOU.
You cannot just focus on the good parts babe. That's where people get off saying you're too positive. You can learn to stay positive while also embracing the negative.
Sure, I try to stay positive and inspire others but what I've learned in doing so all these years is, I sometimes leave out the messy parts...
It is within the messy parts where real acceptance, healing and growth can occur.
This is not a bento box. YOU CANNOT COMPARTMENTALIZE LIFE.
You are not meant to be just one thing or to live just one way or to heal just one part of yourself, love.
But society tells us,
"um that's not true. You are what you are and what you are not. No blurred lines. No exceptions. And if you step outside that line, boy help us..."
Huh?! Like how have we been okay with this perspective for so long?
No wonder the feelings of being a part of a village are so far gone.
It's time for an evolution yo..
IT'S TIME WE TAKE A STANCE ON HOW WE HONOR AND HELP OURSELVES AND EACH OTHER.
You can be a work in progress and a successful ass bitch as the same time.
If that's what you want. The point?
Your limitations, your flaws, your pain and hurt, your disabilities, and your brokenness can either STOP YOU OR INSPIRE YOU, but they can no longer remain buried within you.
This next chapter of healing is calling for you to be EVERYTHING you are.
Positive. Upset. Happy. Pissed off. Excited. Nervous. Hurting. Sick. Healthy. Sad. Fed up. Confident. Worried. Ready for whatever.
AND DETERMINED TO ALLOW YOUR HEALING HEART TO GUIDE YOU.
Your life is not an exclusive deal babe, we all get one shot.
It's time to start accepting yourself outside of who society tells you are or what you're capable of.
You can be really sick and
still work on healing yourself.
You can be depressed and
still run a successful business.
You can have health issues and
still try to live a healthy lifestyle.
You can be lonely and
still find peace being alone.
You can look for light and
still feel like you're swallowed in darkness.
You can fight for human rights and
still stay out of politics.
You can be unhealed, unhappy, uncertain and still have compassion for others.
YOUR LIFE IS NOT A THIS or THAT MEME.
You can be all the things you want to be, and still healing, hoping, dealing...
So yes, I try to stay positive while also accepting that I have limitations, that I can't do all the things I once could, and that my health routines will be a priority every single day for the rest of my life.
ACCEPTING THE TRUTH HELPS ME REMEMBER, SOCIETY DOESN'T GET TO TELL ME WHO I AM ANYMORE.
I am still a capable, bad ass, smart ass, intelligent, empathic, compassionate, positive woman who has much to offer despite the not so positive sides of my life.
WHAT IF YOU ACCEPTED YOUR FLAWS AND LIMITATIONS WITHOUT JUDGEMENT?
WHAT IF DOING SO ALLOWED YOU TO MOVE FORWARD WITH HEALING?
WHAT IF ACCEPTING AND UNDERSTANDING ALL OF YOUR NEEDS, IN BODY, MIND AND SPIRIT, REMINDS YOU JUST WHAT YOU'RE CAPABLE OF?
Say it with me now,
I honor and free myself from the comparison and expectations of others.
I accept where I am today and what I must do to support my body, mind and spirit.
I am worthy of positivity, acceptance and love.
And so it is.
Like with this glorious 😏 bed head, no coffee, just waking up selfie -
you gotta accept yo self!!✌️🤟🙌
With peace and love, Josie
