I love habits. They are simple and small by themselves but bundle them together and they can transform your entire life.
A habit is something you do without thinking as you go about your day. A healthy habit is a behavior that is positive helping you grow towards a goal such as living a simpler life.
Below are 10 habits that can simplify how you are living. Work on one at a time moving your way down the list until you have tackled them all.
#1. BEING MINDFUL
Mindfulness is all about being present in the moment so you can better appreciate the here and now. It’s living consciously, free from distractions so you can give your attention to what you are doing or who you are with.
Put it into action: Set boundaries for distractions such as a smartphone or social media. Only partake in these things at a certain time so you can be more present throughout the day. When talking to someone look them in the eye. Ask questions that are engaging to keep the conversation going.
#2. CONSCIOUS SPENDING
In today’s world, it’s easy to get caught up in the rush of buying the latest, greatest thing from kitchen gadgets to the newest and biggest TV. Many times we buy without thinking things through pulling out a credit card now with a promise to deal with the cost later. There are many ways to get what you need including bartering, thrifting, garage sales and pawn shops. Be more intentional with your money and spending habits.
Being truly aware of the money that is coming in will help you to be more intentional with any money that is going out.
